| Where's my effen raise?! |
[Dec. 12th, 2005|08:40 pm] |
| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | anxious | ] | Well, it's been a while since I e-mailed my bosses' boss regarding my request for a raise. Today I decided it had been long enough, so I went into his office & closed the door. I asked if he had reached a decision or if it was still something he needed more time on. Unexpectedly I was informed that they (corporate peeps) agree with me and think I deserve something extra for my efforts and acheivments. Hell, even if I don't get a raise this is still a victory for me since people realize how much I bust my ass.
He said he needed to discuss it with 2 more people to see what their feelings are towrds the issue. Mind you, it is somewhat "bad" for them to hand out raises in the middle of the year because they don't want to have to do that for everyone. This will be my 2nd time...and it's only happened a total of 2 times in the history of the company - 60 years! Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. Wish me luck! |

| | awake | ] | This past weekend I went with one of my friends out on the town for her birthday party along with many of my other friends. It was a blast, we got her so trashed! We dropped by M.P. O’Reilly’s and drank a little while we danced and chilled there for about 4 or 5 hours if I remember correctly. It was my friend’s 21st birthday so we were all trying to get get trashed. She is a goodie-2-shoes type a girl and she is the youngest in our click so there was added pressure. Surprisingly she actually took the first shot within a fairly timely manner. After that she had about 3 or 4 more shots and maybe a beer and she was gone. One of my other friends is a big dork and couldn’t find his way there so I was trying to figure out where he was and tell him how to get to the bar/club which took about 40 minutes. That kinda sucked. One of my other friend’s who also has always been a goodie-2-shoes was getting wild, dancing on the bar for shots and beer. I was concerned towards the end of the night because she didn’t want to leave but didn’t have a guaranteed ride from anyone. When I called her the following morning she said she can’t remember who took her home…and she doesn’t remember how she evengot there really. She just kind of woke up and was there. Kinda scary. Oh well, life goes on.
After we were done there around 1 – 1:30 a.m. range, we wondered over to Johnny Gitto’s. We weren’t there for 3 minutes before she announced she needed to hurl. After that we took her home and called it a night, but I had a lot of fun!
Last night I bought & installed a backboard for my dartboard. I finally redeemed myself for having lost miserably last week. |

| | pissed off | ] | The last 3 weeks have been hell; one of our buyers who takes care of all the office supplies, and other supplies, has taken vacation for the past three weeks & we don't expect her back until December at least. I am the lucky fellow whom gets to fill orders she normally would. So not to mention I already was way too over-loaded with my own work and having to wipe everyone's ass for them like they are little infants, I now have to take on an entire other person's position. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! I haven't been able to do my own work for the last 2 weeks and I was just finally getting caught up on all my work. Now I get to fall back down the tube again and work my way up. It fucking pisses me off!!! I would ask my doctor to help me cope with some drugs, but there probably are not enough available, or in existence for that matter, to make me oblivious to the fact that I work with a bunch of incompitent morons (with exception to a handful) that cannot figure out how to do their owns jobs. Then I show them how, and somehow I get their job handed off to me since I know how to do it. For now on, I am goign to act like I am ignorant to every operation around this hell and hopefully that will illiminate any chance that I will pick up more responsibilities. Well, that felt good...thank you blog! |

| My Weekend |
[Oct. 30th, 2005|10:14 pm] |
| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | lethargic | ] | This weekend was very productive for me. Friday night we experienced a wierd, creepy, very real ghost urban legend. A little boy in Illinois was tied to train trcks over there as a joke and got hit by the train and died. If you put your car in neutral he pushes it out of the way to keep you from having the same fate. The tracks are now paved over, but he still pushes your car. And no it was not gravity because we were pushed uphill.
Saturday I went to work, had my oil changed and my axle fluid checked, bought new tires and had them put on, and spent time with my baby. We babysat our neice & nephew and took them to Eckart's Orchard where we picked out pumpkins and ate dinner. Their food was fantastic!
Then today I bought new windshield wipers, did our laundry with my wife, played golf, and had Nick & Ann over to carve pumpkins. It was a lot of fun! Now it's time to go hold my beautiful wife and sleep together in each other's arms. I love this life!
And another small thing....I'm supposedly getting $7,000+ dollars for profit sharing! I won't get my hopes up though because it never seems like they can get their figures right 100%. We'll see though & I'll have my fingers crossed. |

| Signing On... |
[Oct. 21st, 2005|10:43 pm] |
| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | awake | ] | hello everybody! It's been a while since I posted, but the lack of free time was worth it. Now I am living up my new life with my beautiful wife, in our own place, and everything is going great. Still paying off the credit card from the honeymoon we had, but everytime I think of all the fun we had it makes me care less about the bill, so it's all good.
In other news, I have had this one problem with my truck since I got it just over a year ago. I took my truck into Don Darr (where I bought it) and they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Then I took it into Jim Butler & the same results. So last week I took it back into Don Darr and now they found it (I can't believe they missed it all this time). Apparently, in all four bearings on my back-end, the metal was heating up and therefore the surface pitted (gave itself small gouges everywhere), and there were peices of free metal floating around in the bearing casings, which caused a hell of a lot of friction, which costed me a hell of a lot of gas money, and the helicopter noise is gone now.
The stupid asses fixed the other problem I was having without knowing they did. I told them about the helicopter noise I was hearing and recently it started making a howling noise, both when it is moving and still. The genius tells me, "we couldn't find anything wrong. The howling noise is happening because your tires are feathered." At the time, I didn't even know what feathered tires meant, but I still knew he was wrong for the fact that if it was the tires, the noise would stop when I stopped. Well, I told the moron I heard it first when sitting at a stop-light. What a dumb-ass!
Anyway, the Cardinals lost. Everybody is giving them a hard time about it too. I think they should lay off a little because they will only hurt the team's morale. I look at it like this, someone's gotta lose, and the Cardinals have been there the last couple years, so it was just a matter of time. the Astros are a good team and they were heating up towards the last half of the regular season anyway. Actually, if it hadn't been for the fact they were facing the Cardinals, I would have been backing them up. They've been my favorite team besides the Cardinals since I was 9 or 10 years old.
Well, good night peeps! |

| | Inspired | ] | Wow! That was the best time of my life! We (my new wife & I) just got back from our honeymoon in Orlando and (if you haven't been there) you wouldn't believe how beautiful it is down there!
I was in awe as soon as we hit the ground. Palm trees everywhere and it was just a really pretty area with a lot of things to do. I should leave Missouri more often! This was my first time outside Missouri & Illinois and I must say that I have been missing way too much adventure!
If any of you happen to go down there, I would strongly urge you to stay at The Portifino Bay Hotel (if you can afford it anyway)! It will cost you an arm and a leg, but life is short anyway so why hold back? It was such a wonderful place and I have never seen so much authentic culture in such a concentrated area in my entire life. It was pure and exactly the same way things are in Italy. There were almost nothing but Italian employees there (all speaking the language of the Sicilians very fluently) and the architecture was 100% perfect. The prices there could be a little more reasonable, but I thought it was all worth it. We didn't have one bad moment there and it was a trip I'll surely never forget. Well, I had better get back to work.
Peace outside! |

| Concerts = Fun! |
[Aug. 11th, 2005|06:41 am] |
| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | energetic | ] | The Staind concert on Saturday kicked ass just like I predicted, of course, I had been to a previous Staind concert, so it's not like I had an advantage in doing such a thing. 3 Doors Down had a great show and performed well, but theatrical presentations aside, I think Staind blew them away. And I got to see some chicks kissing each other while people were staring up the one's skirt, saw some Hooter's girls,.....oh, and my fiancee - the best part of all, I knew I was forgetting something! :) - Just kidding babe! ;)
Let me put it this way, the worst thing about the concert is when I tried to buy a Staind shirt and the lady gave me the wrong one. I stepped out of the line after purchasing it and went to put it on, then I notice she gave me the wrong one. When I tried to exchange it, due to her mistake mind you, she tells me no exchanges....it's their policy. So....I had to buy another shirt....and now I have 2, so freakin sweet! |

Albert Pujols hit a home run at his first at bat, my boy Jim Edmunds hit one shortly thereafter, and even So Taguchi hit one out. It is much more exciting from behing home plate because you can see everything from the batter's perspective and watch the ball sail out over the home run wall. We stomped the Braves!
To make my weekend even more eventful, we are going to see Staind tonight, along with 3 Doors Down, and Breakin Benjamins. It's gonna be a kickass time. I haven't seen Staind in concert since Pointfest 2001!
After that (even though Monday is not a "weekend day") I get to play in a golf tournament on Monday and get paid for it, even though I suck! Talk about a relaxing weekend!
Well peace outside, I think my new icon is freakin' sweet! |

| | energetic | ] | Literally....
Today the cafeteria smells like vomit, it's horrible! I just finished a test, I don't have a clue as to how I did, but I hope it is better than the last one. I can't wait until tomorrow, it's the 3 year anniversary marking the day we started being considered "an item". We are taking off work & we're going to have a blast!
I had to take my truck in yesterday because the check engine light came on. Then it went off the next day, but i took it in anyway. Even though the mechanic on the phoone told me it was pointless because the stupid things do that from time to time with no real problem I insisted anyways. Good thing I did, they discovered that my central computer unit is going bad. Now wouldn't that have been nice if I had just taken his advice and kept driving and then out of no where it happened to break down? They had to order a new one and I have to take it back Friday. They said don't worry about it unless the service engine soon light comes back on and starts blinking, then I would have a problem. Stupid morons wouldn't just give me a car to borrow until they could fix it.
Other than that life has been wonderful. We haven't found a house that we both like yet, but it's a fun process anyways. The only thing I hate about it is that we have barely any time to find one. So I'm gonna go look some more, bye! |

| | indifferent | ] | Last night we went to see our pastor about the wedding and it was pouring rain like....well, it was pouring. Anyway, we got out of the truck and ran to the door in this rain just to find it was locked and the pastor wasn't there yet.
Then we drove out near Gravois Bluffs to visit one of Maggie's old friends, who was supposed to be waiting for our phone call. Needless to say, she never answered her phone and so that kinda sucked, but I did buy my Dad's Father's Day gift while I was out there. Oh, by the way, any of you who are going to be travelling out that way and plan on taking Gravois all the way out, be care ful. Being that it was raining last night incredibly hard, and it was dark outside when we were driving, we couldn't see all that well. Then we found out they are having road construction at the last second and had seconds to not run into a concrete barrier that made the right lane merge left and furthermore, made all lanes turn left so that in the end you would be driving on the other side of the bridge where oncoming traffic would normally be. It was crazy! |

I kept wondering when Staind was going to be back in STL and I found out last week they are coming in August. I bought tickets as soon as I got home over the internet! 2 other bands that I like a lot, but not as much as Staind, that are going to be there are 3 Doors Down and Breakin' Benjamins. It's going to be a kickass show!
Other than that, I am nearing the end of my schooling, moving out shortly, getting married, and I couldn't complain about anything else, except for insignifigant things like burnt pizza, but who cares?! Now eveyone who used to say I'd be a failure can kiss my damn ass and live in embarrassment as I succeed in life further and further and make them look stupid! Kinda sucks to think that you made fun of someone saying that they couldn't do anything better than you, and you look at the picture now and see someone who makes 4 to 7 times what you make in a year and has everything that a person could ask for. I feel like I am bragging too much, so I will go now. Don't feel too depressed that I started school later, I'm finishing sooner, make more money, drive a better vehicle, I'm moving out and buying a house, getting married, and I have a life. You'll grow up one day!....well, we think and hope anyway. BYE! |

| Police Suck |
[May. 19th, 2005|08:10 am] |
| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | wired | ] | Tuesday night I was on my way to drop Maggie off and when I approached Michigan Ave., there was a guy getting ready to walk across the street in front of me. I thought I had time and started into the intersection. When I realized I didn’t have time I stopped in the middle of the intersection (it’s a 4-way stop sign intersection).
I dropped Maggie off and headed back home the way I came. When I got to Michigan, a car was approaching me from my right side. As I passed the car started honking at me and flashing their brights. I ignored it thinking it was just some stupid teenagers being idiots. Then they turned in behind me and started getting close on my back bumper and yelling out the windows. At the next stop sign they tried to come around the side of me. I pulled off quickly and sped up. They kept weaving in and out of the right side of the street where the parked cars are.
The first thought that went through my head is that they potentially had a gun and it was that guy from the intersection.
I advanced towards the highway (55) while running right through the rest of the stop signs and the light. They followed me through all of them. At this point it seemed obvious to me that they weren’t up to any good.
As I approached the on-ramp to the highway, I tried to out maneuver them by pretending to want to go straight and instead, whip a left at the last second. I did just that…..but they were able to make the turn somehow.
So now were headed down the highway and they keep trying to pull along side of me. At this point I called the cops and I was already on the phone with them and told them generally what had happened so far. I told her that I was on 55 and I had just passed River Des Peres and I was headed to Bayless next. She asks me, “Are you going North or Southbound?” I replied exclaiming that I do not know my directions, I just know what is around me. I start telling her that they are trying to run me off the road and they potentially have a gun since they are trying to get side to side with me. I also told her that we were doing 85+ MPH by this point, weaving I & out of cars.
Then she has the nerve to say, “Do you have their license plate number?” …………Okay, I am driving like a maniac to save my life, let me slow down so that I can get a closer look! What a dumb bitch! I told her no politely, and let her know I saw at least 2 cop cars ahead on the other side of the highway with someone pulled over. I asked her to call them & have them look for me so that they can radio ahead to another car or something to help me out. She says it doesn’t work that way sir. What the fuck! I’m about to be killed and they can’t do something that simple and forget formalities!!?
The car pulls up along side me finally so I slam on my brakes and then they did the same pretty quickly and they were able to stay near me. I sped up as fast as my truck would go and I got back in front of them. They kept doing their crap and finally when we got to Reavis Barracks, they went to the exit and got off. I told the dispatcher. You know what she asks? She asked me, “which direction did they go on Reavis?”
Stop – I just got rid of them. Now who in the right mind would follow the assholes off the exit when their life was in danger?
I explained this to her and she asks me to calm down. At this point I had lost my patience with her. So, I said to her, “you were a big fucking help, good thing you’re not a surgeon!” and I hung up on her.
I just can’t believe this strictly bureaucratic way of helping people, it’s a bit extreme. I understand that some is needed to maintain order and such, but when someone’s life is in danger and you’re supposed to protect them, I think that requires a few exceptions. This is the second time this has happened to me with the police. The other time was in June of 2003 out by Robertsville State Park (near Six Flags area – St. Louis). If you ever need the police, I hope you can wait a while and answer some pretty ridiculous questions. Good luck! |

| | relaxed | ] | I figured out the perfect b-day presents for my Fiancee and she has no clue! She'll be all surprised & stuff.
On another note, there was this elderly guy that came into our office today after hours wanting to know how to get to St. Charles.
Okay, I live in St. Louis, and I'm not dumb in general, however, it did take me 3 1/2 hours to get from Webster Groves to St. Charles (DO NOT COMMENT ON THIS SUBJECT!)
Anyway, I directed him to "Mr. Smart Ass" in the company and he was no help. Then thankfully my boss came back in to get something he forgot on his way out. he tried to describe the directions to the guy, but there was just no way he was actually going to get to where he was going. So my boss demanded that he hand over a relative's phone # and called his wife's cell.
The guy's daughter answered the phone and told my boss she had no car. My boss had the lady give him the address and got a map off the internet. He then decided the only way this guy was getting home was if he drove him there.
The whole time this is going on, the guy keeps trying to follow us around and my boss is demanding that he sits down in the front. The guy has a heart condition and lung cancer, and is half deaf. My boss ended up arguing with his own wife because he had to cancel their plans for the night to take this guy home and she was fuming pissed.
Anyway, it was extremely funny in a way, but a serious issue arose in my mind....old people and pride.
There is a point of time in everyone's life when that person needs to admit that they are not adequately adapt to act in certain ways. There is no shame in it and they should not resist assistance from people who want to help. That was just a point that I felt compelled to address and if I offended anyone, I apologize, but when thought about in depth, I think a reasonable person would at least agree with some of the components I mentioned. If not, sorry. |

I got the grades back on the two tests I took Thursday and the results were good and bad. neither makes sense though. In politics I didn't study and I got a higher grade than the 1st test. In law class, I studied my ass off and scored lower than the 1st test. I don't understand but neither was that bad of a grade so I can't really complain and get away with it.

| Car Problems........fixed! Sort of? |
[Apr. 4th, 2005|12:16 pm] |
| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | crazy | ] | I took off work early Friday to take my truck to Midas to get it fixed. It has been making a lot of squeaky noise which I would normally contribute to noise, but since my front end was feeling funny, I wanted a professional to look at it.
Turns out I needed new brake pads….what the….? When I asked the guy how much to replace them, he said $145.00! I had already done some homework and found ceramics for $42.00 at O’Reilly’s and decided to leave. Upon installing the new pads, I found all but one pad had almost all of its material still left on, it was the inside pad on the driver side. Upon installing the new pads I discovered why it wore down so much more than the rest.
On the calipers (things that apply pressure to the brakes), there are two pistons that have rubber boots that wrap around the pistons to keep dirt and dust out……those were damaged. It appears that the brakes on that tire have been locked up ever since I’ve had the truck. This “professional” wasn’t even going to tell me about the calipers! I could just imagine how much he’d ask for those to be replaced based on how much he wanted for pads.
I replaced the calipers and assembled it back together. It is now fixed with one exception, the feeling on the front end that I didn’t like seems to be the steering column. It just needs adjusting, so I am getting that taken care of this afternoon at Fitz’s. |

| weekend |
[Mar. 16th, 2005|06:34 am] |
| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | cold | ] | This past weekend was.....interesting, I guess?
Saturday morning I went to work around 6 a.m. and left at about 11 a.m. When I came home, my Dad and I drove my truck around the neighborhood hoping to locate which rotors we needed to change (it has been vibrating so much when stopping that you feel as if you were riding a horse...for those of you that have). When we came back to the house, I noticed one of my friend's cars in front of my neighbor's house with a horrible parking job.
When we got out of the truck she came out and my brother was making fun of her because she had hit a curb and blew out her tire. I thought it was hilarious and of course while we were putting her spare n my Dad was making jokes about the stereo-typical woman driver, saying that they should only ride horses or walk and comments like that.
After we finished that we decided to take a crack at my truck, changing rotors, a 20 minute job if you take into consideration the break every 3 1/2 minutes for a beer. No, of course it couldn't just take 20 minutes. It took at least a half an hour just to get the bolts loose on the calipers and then there were other bolts that I had never seen on any other vehicle's brake system, but nevertheless, these ones wouldn't budge. we tried using a pipe for leverage, air tools, we even bought an adapter for his air wrench to be compatable with the bolt size we were fighting with. Finally (both of us thinking this all along) we decided to use a second floor jack to push the wrench up to loosen the bolt. We figured if the truck's weight doesn't budge them, nothing possible could and I would be screwed. Luckily it worked perfectly. You would think it would be a breeze after having just spent at least a total of 2 hours on the stupid bolts.....you'd be wrong too.
The rotors themselves were stuck! We tried beating them with a hammer for at least a half hour and then decided it wasn't going to give in.
Take into consideration that this is just the FIRST wheel! After all this frustration and wasted time, we put the wheel back together and I took it to Midas. They had to use sludge-hammer size mallets to beat the things off with some pretty damn good swings, about 10-15 per side of each rotor! They finally came off.
Then I saw what was making me feel like I was riding a horse when I was stopping, the F-ing rotors that were just replaced in October were CHIPPING OFF on the back side of them! Whole chunks of metal, about 1 1/2" long x 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick, were falling the fuck off the backside! I am taking those rotors back up to the place that put them on and I am demanding that they reimberse me for the cost and aggrivation I encountered as a result of their cheap-ass rotorsthey put on my truck. I mean, they couldn't have even been made from the stereo-typical Chinese steel, it had to have been like....I don't know, but they were cheap peices of shit!
That's about it for now, peace outside! |

| | drained | ] | Today should be lots of fun. I have 2 tests! I wish this weather would clear up soon, I have things to do on the weekends when the weather is "reasonable" and it seems like there is some force against my every wish with regards to that outside stuff. Anyway, my income tax refund is huge! Much better than I expected and I'm all like, "Sweet".....and stuff. Well, I have to get back to work but that's life. |

| | anxious | ] | Working on Saturday mornings is a hard thing to do when you are not required to do it. It’s too damn hard to make yourself get out of bed and actually go in. Then I got to work today and 3 times the power has gone out within 2 ½ hours. Needless to say I lost work I had been working on 2 of the times it happened which irritated me, so I am confused as to why I am in such a giddy mood. I can’t wait to go out tonight! |

| | accomplished | ] | It has been a long....long time. Since the last time I posted (centuries ago), I have had a lot of ups & downs. The good news is that the good has finally outwayed the bad and I hope the pattern continues or improves in my favor. All is well and there is no drama in my life that I am consciously aware of.
I had a great holiday and was able to see most of my friends and family. I hope all is well with everone and will post again shortly. |

| | drunk | ] | I finally can write about this past weekend!
It was an awesome, fulfilling weekend. The best part was going out to dinner with my Mom, brother, sister, & fiancee to Fortel's. I don't get to spend a lot of quality time with them, so it was my treat. Then we went to the boat with Chrissy & Adam and I walked in with $20.00 & walked out with $36.50! Positive numbers involved in my financial life! Woohoo!
We finished our Christmas shopping and got caught up on all of our homework. Well, that's about it. I'll write again soon, hopefully! |

| | calm | ] | Please help me weekend...please save me from this week of hell!
Hopefully this weekend will be relaxing as the last. This week, especially the work aspect, has been nothing but hell.
Today I have to do a presentation in my Comp 2 class. What fun that will be. I'll get to make my instructor look dumb as hell! It feels so good to make her miserable.
Well, that is about al that is going on in my head right now. That and the constant fear that everyone is going to start going bald at an earlier age. |

| Why do days like this exist? |

| [ | Current State of Mind |
| | distressed | ] | This morning I woke up with a horribly painful headache. Not the kind that irritate, the kind that make you curl over and use profanity in an unusual amount. I don't know if it is a consequence of my being up last night until 1:30 doing my online quizes, but if it is I would take F's on all three quizes to feel better today. I hardly could get myself to leave this morning and as a result I was late. I figure, why stay home when you have a headache that disables your ability to sleep it off.
I get to work and decide today is a day to clear my desk and get organized...again. The hell with that thought. i sit down at my desk and from that time until now I have been attending everyone else's "emergencies". My take on this subject is as follows; if you can't do your job, don't put it on me because I know how to, have your damn boss train you or quit and hopefully someone with a brain will take over your job. I'm so tired of doing everyone else's damn work.
Then I get my paycheck that is supposed to reflect my raise I was told about Wednesday of last week, and of course it lacks the raise. So I couldn't cash it yet until they decide how to handle it. What a crock of shit.
Now I have to take a test. That isn't actually the bad thing though. The bad thing is that it will probably be the best thing I accomplish today and that makes for a craptacular day.
Hopefully tommorow will be better. Until then, I guess hell is my place of living. |

| [ | Tunes |
| | Some slow R & B song stuck in my head | ] | So far, I descended from my bed in an awake state and even knew that I was driving this morning on the way to work. Usually I get there and I look around confused as to how I got there. Not too much went wrong this morning at work and I decided that I like stuff. Nothing in particular, just stuff....yep. Shoes, cars, food, and staples. Interesting I know! And you wouldn't beleive me even after I say this but, there is one thing I can't seem to form a liking for, most people. i think if they didn't drive, and they weren't given responsibilities that revolved or became related to my job, that I would like people. They are just so stupid. Always screwing up and such. If I had one wish, it would be to bring everyone's IQ up to at least 15. That way they might actually realize when they do something stupid and make an effort to prevent it in the future. My co-workers seem to lack this ability and screw up the same way over and over again, in the same way. It's unbeleiveable, you'd have to see it. Although, you might take it as a comedy act unless you're around it enough.
Oh,....and I like penguins, they waddle. |
